Woohooo… my photocam is working again. It always had problems (when shaken or receiving slight bumps from moving it while on the tripod, it would lose power and, upon restart, ask me to set the clock again) but when I wanted to pack it for last weekend I found it to be entirely dead. No matter what I did, it wouldn’t power on and when I tried to open it up, I had to find out that none of my screwdrivers would allow me to rid its casing of the screws holding it together. Back from the WWCL/GSL Finals
I spent most of the last week at the Asus WWCL and GameStar Liga finals in Germany (the Gasometer in Oberhausen to be exact), helping with the gamer-FM live coverage. Here’s a short diary of the event:
Wednesday, 24th August 2005 – I still haven’t learned how to write in stardates … just kidding. ;)
After a bad start (unforseen hardware problems keep me at work longer than I had planned) I leave Ettelbruck at about 15:30. After a mostly uneventful trip (special thanks to my navigation system for guiding me precisely to my destination) I arrive at the Gasometer, help arrange some tables, transport some stuff inside and then go to bed (at least I can’t recall having done anything extraordinary that day). Hello world!
Welcome to the very first entry in my blog. Everybody and their brother has one, so why shouldn’t I (even if all it does is raise the ‘junk level’ on the world wide web)?
Note: Yes, there are older entries than this one, but they were migrated from my old postnuke site so technically, this is still the first entry I ever typed into this blog. ;)
No power = site outages
You might have noticed the recent server outages here, the reason for these being that we’re getting some solar cells rigged to our power grid and I keep losing power while people are working on that. My UPS usually keeps the server alive but during these outages the router goes down and thus I lose all Internet connectivity. I hope they’ll be finished soon because I’m already sick of having my alarm clock flash a wrong time at me in the mornings.
Back from de_lux.LAN v3.0
Well, I’m back from de_lux.LAN v3.0 and have reinstalled the network here. Everything should be up and running again. I accidentally destroyed the gallery’s htaccess file today but it’s restored now and should be working again.
Apart from that I didn’t really do much with my vacation, it’s back to work on Monday and I wonder whether the hardware for our latest project will be there.
