The gallery scripts were upgraded today along with some other stuff. I ran into some problems when asked to do the database upgrades (the manual upgrading gives PHP errors) so I just had wget ‘touch’ each gallery to make the automatic db upgrade kick in. Should work OK now.

Well, you might’ve noticed it, I’ve had a power outage today that downed both my DSL modem and the web server. It’s been running disconnected from the UPS for several months now and it just reached 100 days of consecutive uptime yesterday.

Anyway, I’ll profit from the downtime to reconnect it to the UPS which should protect it from power outages and other power hazards (spikes, …). In addition to that I’ll perform some maintenance on the system, like software upgrades and hardware stuff (removing dust).

I hope it’ll run for at least another 100 days in a row once I’m done with all that. ;)

Update: Whew, I ran into some big problems with my tape drive. The driver kept saying that there’s no media present and I couldn’t run any tape operations on it. A complete recompile of the kernel and the osst module seems to have fixed the issue, at least I’m running a full system backup right now.

Apologies for the recent site outages. I just switched ISPs to avoid some pretty bad quota limitations (which would effectively make it impossible for me to host this site) and in addition to that my new provider had some trouble yesterday evening.

I hope my new ISP won’t implement the same restrictions than my old one otherwise this site will have to go (I can’t control how much traffic it generates, that is dependant on the number of people using it).
