I’ve held out quite a long time, but my reiser4 usage has finally come to an end. I’ve converted the last remaining reiser4 partition to ext3 today. (more…)

New theme / lost my USB key cap

All right, the good news is that I finally switched my wordpress theme from old:

to new:

Yeah, yeah, everybody and their brother uses it, so why should I be different and innovative? OK, I hacked mine to work in resolutions up to 1600 (the original one has issues with the background when reaching 1280×1024) so I guess I’m technically not lying if I state that the version you see here is customized. ;)

The bad news for today: I lost the cap of my USB key. It’s one of those Corsair Voyager thingies, and even though the cap’s made of rubber, it kept sliding off when getting my keychain out of my pocket, often falling to the ground, so it’s not as if I hadn’t been warned. Oh well, I guess my ‘rugged’ usb stick has just become a ‘dangerously vulnerable through its exposed USB connector’ usb stick.

Demo to video, again.

All right, I took the time to digitize another one of my favourite demos, asd’s Dreamchild. Having recently rendered ‘1995′ to video, I was a little more prepared this time around so I could save all the time of looking around for the proper software and fiddling with its settings. That said, I still encountered some slight differences in the process, read on for the story and links. (more…)

I digitized a demo!

Yep, title says it, I finally took up the courage to digitize a demo. I’ve been wanting to digitize Future Crew’s Second Reality for a long time but last time I tried, I had to find out that it wouldn’t run on any of my PCs with Composite/S-Video output and the shots I grabbed from an emulated version had all kinds of issues (this demo actually uses a lot of video modes, thus my shots end up in many different resolutions, and the emulation layer causes performance issues and audio synchronization problems).

So no Second Reality for now, instead I decided to digitize ‘1995′ by kewlers and mfx, and spent nearly half a day doing so. Read on for the story and the download link… (more…)
